How Can I Set My Facebook To Private?

When we talk about social media, Facebook is the first name that comes to mind. People of all ages have a Facebook account, and we have embraced it too tenaciously that it has become an integral part of our life. Still, managing Facebook Privacy is a massive task as Facebook's features are always changing. Yet, social media has provided people with control over where their posts are shown and how much personal data are used to serve ads. But these additional options have also made handling Facebook privacy even more perplexing.

One quick way to lock down everything you post is to set your default sharing option to Friends and not Public. After you make this change, only your friends see your posts. If you're worried about online privacy, there are steps you can take to ensure that your Facebook activity and information are kept private.

Steps for Privacy Settings in Facebook

The first thing you should be doing is find out how much of your Facebook info is visible to strangers. For doing that, go to your profile page and click three dots in the bottom right corner. In the dropdown menu, click "View as." This will take you to the version of your Facebook page that appears the way it does to users who are strangers.

If you don't know how to set Facebook to private, follow the below-mentioned steps:

  1. Select the arrow at the upper-right corner of the Facebook screen.

  2. Select Settings & Privacy and choose Settings.

  3. In the left pane, select Privacy.

  4. The first item listed will be who can see your future posts. If it's saying Public, then select Edit and choose Friends in the dropdown menu.

  5. Select Close to save the change and you can also change the audience for previous posts. Look for the area labeled Limit the audience for posts you shared with friends of friends or the Public.

  6. After that, Select Limit Past Posts, then select Limit Past Posts again for Facebook full site privacy settings.

By following the above-mentioned process, you can get sorted with your Facebook’s privacy issues.
